                | Jayson
Shaw Excels to Take Turning Stone XXII | L-R Runner-up Mika Immonen, Winner Jayson
Shaw and Tour Owner Mike Zuglan |
                | Jayson Shaw captured Turning Stone XXII by taking
the long road. He lost his second round match 9-3 to Alain Parent
but from then on he was unstoppable as he took on all conceivable
shots and his safety play was magnificent.

On the one-loss side he defeated Ed Sauer 9-6, Ron Casanzio
9-0, Matt Krah 9-4, Dan Hewitt 9-3 and Kevin Guimond 9-5. Then
he ran into tournament favorite Shane Van Boening, who had just
been defeated by Mike Dechaine 9-8. Earlier in the evening Van
Boening had pulled off one of the greatest shots this reporter
has ever seen. On the hill against Thorsten Hohmann (who only
trailed by one rack) Van Boening came to a table that had no
pocket for the one ball. The cue ball was in the back of the
kitchen, the one was past the side pocket and the nine ball
was perhaps a foot outside the left corner pocket. The combination
was anything but straight in. Van Boening would have to cut
the one ball and then make perfect contact on the nine in order
to complete the shot. He fired the one into the nine at rocket
pace and made the shot to secure the victory as the crowd, at
                  first stunned, erupted into applause.

Mike Dechaine had a great week. His shotmaking was sharp as
a tack and his cue ball seemed more then willing to obey his
wishes. Prior to defeating Van Boening he had disposed of John
Morra 9-5. In his next match he was mostly just a spectator
as Rodney Morris was in his automatic mode where he makes every
shot appear very easy. No stress ever shows on Rodney’s
face and he approaches each shot as if it were a given that
the shot will work. When his confidence is working that well
Morris is one tough match. Morris took down Dechaine 9-3 and
then had to face new Hall of Fame inductee Mika Immonen.

Immonen had already taken down Donny Mills 9-8, Rob Saez 9-4,
and Dan Hewitt 9-5. When Immonen beat Morris 9-7 he relaxed
in the hot seat to await his final challenge.

Hunter Lombardo and Mike Dechaine both spoke with me prior to
the first round and both expressed their disappointment at not
being chosen to be a member of the ‘tryout’ squad
for the Mosconi Cup. Four of the eight prospects did not attend
Turning Stone, something we found curious as it seems logical
that they need to prove themselves to make the cut when the
final five players are chosen and they need to keep themselves
under fire from champions on the tables. So both Lombardo and
Dechaine wanted to send a polite message that they need to be
considered next year. Neither voiced any negative comments towards
the current squad or coach Mark Wilson, they just want to be
                  on the radar for 2015.

Lombardo sent his message by defeating MC team candidate Brandon
Shuff 9-3. To be fair, this was not Shuff’s best effort
of the week and he proved his worth by finishing the event in
9th place, the same position as Lombardo and Van Boening. The
other Mosconi Cup candidates finished as follows: Oscar Dominguez
finished out of the money after he ran into World 8-Ball Champion
Huidje See and then, two rounds later, was forced out 9-7 by
sharpshooter Donny Mills. Jeremy Sossei finished one slot further
back than Van Boening and Shuff at 13th when he was eliminated
on the hill by Ernesto Dominquez.

Our final Four wound up as Shaw, Immonen, Morris and Dechaine.
Each of these players had a cadre of fans who were convinced
no one could beat their man. They all deserved great praise
for their play all week as this was one of the strongest fields
ever to play at Turning Stone.

Immonen was undefeated and in the hot seat. Morris was awaiting
the winner of Shaw and Dechaine to fight for the B side title
and a ticket into the finals. Dechaine and Shaw fought tooth
and nail all the way until the match stood at double-hill. Early
on the match Shaw came to the table with no shot on the one
ball. He was inside the head string with the cue ball and he
would have to kick off of either the side or foot rail in order
to hit the one ball. The nine ball sat in the jaws of the corner
pocket. Shaw measured the angle he needed off of the side rail
to kick the one ball over toward the nine ball. When he pulled
the trigger it appeared at first that the nine ball would not
be moved. But the one came off of the rail and brushed the nine
ball into the pocket for a thrillingl victory created by a kick-combination
shot under extreme pressure. Had the nine ball not fallen Dechaine
would have almost certainly run the table.

Shaw then had to face Morris for the semi-finals and the chance
to play in the finals. Morris had a lot of momentum on his side
and was shooting instinctively as if he could not miss any shot.
The crowd favored Morris to take the win simply because he appeared
immune to pressure and he was making every shot. But Shaw totally
dominated the match. He ran rack after rack and never gave Morris
the opportunity to get rolling. Shaw shot his way to the final
dance with a 9-2 trouncing of Morris in a match that took less
                  than 30 minutes to complete.

Our finals were contested between Jayson Shaw and Mika Immonen.
The room was nearly evenly divided on which player they thought
would win but Immonen barely got that nod as his experience
in World Championships and major events around the world seemed
                  to give him the edge.

That experience proved to be of little aid to Immonen. They
were tied early at one apiece but after that it became the Jayson
Shaw show and Shaw moved steadily ahead of Immonen by stringing
together racks and denying Immonen good starting points. Immonen
did contribute to his own demise, however, by jawing balls on
three separate occasions in the lower left pocket, ducks for
Shaw to pick off easily. In the end Shaw proved to any doubters
that he belongs at the Big Boy’s table whenever dinner
is served as he took down the Iceman 13-6.

January 8-11, 2015. I will begin taking entries for that event

Once again at Turning Stone there will be a "second chance"
tournament on Sunday Sept. 21 at 10AM. This is an event for
those Non Pro level players (I will decide) eliminated from
the main event. The event format will be as follows: $60 Entry
Fee - 32 Player Max - same rules as main event - Single Elimination
                  - Races to 4, best 2 of 3 sets, with the deciding set a single
game sudden death. This means that if each player wins a race
to 4, there will be a lag for the break and a 1 game playoff
to determine the match winner. Entries will be taken for this
tournament as players are eliminated from the main event and
will be treated as first paid - first in until the event is
full. The equipment for this world class event will once again be
16 Diamond Pro tables covered with 860 Simonis ("The Cloth
Of Champions") tournament blue cloth. For the first time

                | Mike Dechaine | Dechaine Stays Strong
                  on Joss Tour |
                | Mike Dechaine kept his recent
streak of hot play going strong with his third straight win
on the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour on May 31st and June 1st. Dechaine emerged from a field of 49 players at Snookers in Providence,
RI to take the hot-seat with a hard fought 9-8 win over Jayson
                  Shaw.

On the one loss side, Shaw then dropped a 9-7 decision to Nelson
Oliviera. That match was a bit of revenge for Oliviera, as it
was Shaw who had sent him to the one loss side on Saturday by
                  the same 9-7 scoreline.

The finals between Dechaine and Oliviera would go two sets,
with Oliviera winning set one 9-7 and then Dechaine taking the
second set by the score of 9-1.

The second chance tournament saw fifteen players come back on
Sunday to play, but this event was all about Mark Creamer. Creamer
went undefeated and ended the tournament with a combined game
score of 15-1, having only lost one game to Ranulf Tamba in
the second round. Creamer defeated Luis Aybar 3-0 for the hot-seat
and again 3-0 in the finals.

The Turning Stone Classic XXII is now full, and Mike Zuglan
has a waiting list for players who are still interested in playing.
Interested players should contact Mike at 518-356-7163 to be
                  added to the list.

                | Dechaine
over Strickland at Raxx | Mike Dechaine |
                | Mike Dechaine picked up right where he left
off two weeks ago on the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour with an undefeated
run through the field at Raxx Poolroom in West Hempstead NY
                  on April 26th and 27th.

After an undefeated run two weeks ago at The Golden Cue in Albany,
Dechaine looked like he would be tested right out of the gate
when he drew Earl Strickland in the first round. Dechaine was
unphased by the tough draw and sent Earl to the one loss side
9-5 to get his weekend started.

Dechaine would remain undefeated on Saturday and take the hot-seat
on Sunday with a 9-7 win over Mosconi Cup hopeful Jeremy Sossei. On the one loss side, Earl Strickland was looking for a rematch
with Dechaine in the finals. Strickland got his chance with
                  a 9-6 win over Sossei.

Dechaine finished off his weekend with a dominating 9-3 win
over Earl in the first - and only - set of the finals.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be back in action May 31st and
June 1st at Snookers in Providence, RI. Coincidentally, that
is Dechaine's home room. The Snookers event will be the final
event of the season before The Turning Stone Classic XXII, scheduled
for September 18th - 21st at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona,
NY. There are a few spots open for the Turning Stone event,
and players are urged to contact Mike Zuglan at (518) 356-7163
                  to reserve their spot.

Spinelli and Mike Dechaine | Dechaine and Mieu Score NE 9-Ball
                  Open Wins |
                | Mike Dechaine cruised, relatively
untested, through a field of fifty three players to win the
Joss NE 9-Ball Tour's NE 9-Ball Open XXVII at Golden Cue Billiards
in Albany, NY on April 12th - 13th.

The closest any player got to Dechaine on day one, was a 9-6
win over Dwight Dixon. No one would come close to that on Sunday
as Dechaine ran over Jarrod Clowery 9-2 for the hot-seat.

Clowery's return to the Joss Tour would come to an abrupt halt,
with Mosconi Cup hopeful Jeremy Sossei scoring a 9-1 win over
Clowery on the one loss side.

Sossei's dominating performance over Clowery wasn't enough preperation
for Dechaine though, as Dechaine quickly dispatched Sossei 9-3
in the first and only set of the finals.

The second chance tournament drew twenty one players on Sunday,
where Steve Greene defeated Mike Hurley 3-2 for the hot-seat,
but then fell in two sets to tour newcomer Kiet Mieu in the
                  finals.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be back in action at Raxx Billiards
in West Hempstead, NY on April 26th and 27th.

                      | Jeremy Sossei went undefeated through
a field of 45 players at Salt City Billiards in Syracuse,
NY to win the April 5th/6th stop on the Joss NE 9-Ball
Tour. A fairly routine 9-5 win over Danny Hewitt for the hot-seat,
was followed up by a battle for Sossei in the finals.

Hewitt quickly eliminated Gerry Williams 9-2 in the semi-finals,
and he geared up to take on Sossei in the finals. Sossei
came out of the game on fire and quickly held a 5-1 lead.
Sossei extended the lead to 7-2 and that was when Hewitt
caught a gear. Hewitt pocketed 9-ball after 9-ball and
the two players were soon tied at 8-8. Unfortunately for
Hewitt, his streak of wins would come to an end in the
17th rack as Sossei won the case game to earn first place
                        9-8.

Sunday's second chance tournament saw Phil Davis come
back from the one loss side for his second straight second
chance win. Willie Oney would beat Ben Werblow for the
hot-seat, but Davis came from the left side of the board
and beat both players to earn first place and $300 in
                        prize money.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be back in action next weekend
for the NE 9-Ball Open XXVII at Golden Cue Billiards in
                        Albany, NY.

Dupuis and Steve Goulding | Dupuis Earns First Ever Joss
Tour Win; Davis Wins Second Chance |
                      | When Joey Dupuis is on
his game, racing around the table as if he doesn't have
to even try, he is a sight to behold. He looks almost
unstoppable. That was the case for Dupuis after an early
stumble at the Joss Tour's 5th Annual NE Pool & Billiard
Hall of Fame 9-Ball Open on March 1st - 2nd at Snookers
in Providence RI. Dupuis' stumble came in the second round, when he lost
a hill-hill decision to Jeremy Sossei. That would be Dupuis'
last time to taste defeat on this weekend. Dupuis won
nine straight matches on the left side of the board, to
earn a shot at Mike Dechaine in the finals. Dechaine had
just defeated Kevin Guimond 9-4 in a lopsided match for
the hot-seat. Dupuis would out-do that 9-4 win, with a
9-2 beat down of Guimond in the semi-final match.

In the double elimination finals, Dupuis ran away with
the first set to defeat Dechaine 9-4 and force a second
set. The second set was much closer, with both players
tied at 5-5 before Dupuis took control and won the match
9-6 for his first ever Joss Tour victory. Decahine consoled
himself over the second place finish by winning the $1500
Joss Cue raffle, which is held at every event.

The second chance event saw 13th place main event finisher
Phil Davis complete an undefeated run through a field
of 24 players to pick up the win. Davis beat Snooker's
owner Steve Goulding 3-0 for the hot-seat, and then held
off Kevin Bauccio 3-1 in the first and only set of the
                        finals.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be back in action on April
5th - 6th at Salt City Billiards in Syracuse, NY for another
                        $1500/$500 added event.

                      | Canadian
Danny Hewitt chalked up his second consecutive and third
overall win on the current Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour
with a come-from-the-loss-side win on the weekend of
February 22-23. He defeated Ron Casanzio in the finals
of the third stop on the tour, back in October, and
two weeks ago, defeated Jeremy Sossei in the finals
of the February 8-9 stop in Amsterdam, NY. Hewitt played
three matches against Dave Fernandez, winning the last
two to claim the $1,500-added event title that had drawn
43 entrants to Trick Shots Billiards and Sports Club
                          in Clifton Park, NY.

They met first in a heated battle to claim the hot seat.
In the winners' side semifinals, Hewitt had sent Greg
Antonakos to the losers' bracket 9-3, as Fernandez was
busy sending Keith Lauer over 9-5. Fernandez prevailed
in the double hill hot seat match, and waited for Hewitt
                          to come back.

On the loss side, Antonakos met up with Jeff Smolen,
who'd survived a double hill fight against Yesid Garibello
and eliminated Matt Tetreault 9-5. Lauer drew Esbon
Worden, who, after being sent to the loss side by Hewitt,
had defeated Jed Jecen 9-8 and Angelo Hilton 9-4. Antonakos
defeated Smolen 9-6, and in the quarterfinals, met Worden,
                          who'd shut out Lauer.

Antonakos took the quarterfinal match 9-7, but was stopped
by Hewitt in the semifinals 9-2. In all, Hewitt gave
up only three racks in the two-set final; two in the
opening to force the second set, and only one in the
second set to claim his second consecutive Joss Northeast
                          9-Ball title.

                      | Hewitt
and Donnelly score Sharp Shooters Joss Tour Wins | L-R Danny Hewitt, room owner Tim
                        Berlin and Jeremy Sossei |
                      | Danny Hewitt cruised - unbeaten and relatively
untested - through a field of 45 players to win the Joss
NE 9-Ball Tour stop at Sharp Shooters Billiards in Amsterdam,
NY on February 8th and 9th.

An early Satruday 9-5 win over Paul Rozonewski was the
closest any opponent would get to beating Hewitt all weekend.
Hewitt wouldn't even break a sweat in the match for the
hot-seat, as he defeated Jeremy Sossei 9-0.

On the one loss side, Rozonewski was on a six match winning
streak and would have to get by Sossei to earn another
shot at Hewitt in the finals. Rozonewski would have to
settle for third place though, as Sossei handed him another
                        9-5 loss.

The final match between Hewitt and Sossei was just a little
longer than their first meeting, with Hewitt scoring a
9-2 win in the first and only set of the finals.

The second chance tournament on Sunday drew fifteen players
and Mike Donnelly scored an undefeated win, with victories
over Demian Provost for the hot-seat and again in the
finals. The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour's next stop will be February 22nd
and 23rd at Trick Shot Billiards in Clifton Park, NY.

Tour director Mike Zuglan urged players interested in
participating in this year's Turning Stone Classic XXII
on September 18th - 21st to get their entry fees in to
him as soon as possible. The field is roughly 35% full
                        already.

                      | Earl Strickland | Strickland Undefeated at Joss
                        Tour Stop |
                      | Earl Strickland completed
an undefeated run through the field to win the Joss NE
9-Ball Tour stop at Raxx Pool Room in West Hempstead,
NY on November 23rd and 24th.

Strickland was just one of the early favorites in this
event, with a field that included Mike Dechaine and Europe's
Jayson Shaw. By the luck of the draw, Dechaine and Shaw
faced off in the first round with Shaw scoring the win
and Dechaine taking a very early trip to the left side
                        of the board.

Back on the winners side, it was Strickland scoring a
9-6 win over Shaun Wilkie to capture the hot-seat on Sunday
                        afternoon.

Wilkie made the journey to the one loss side, and found
Dechaine waiting. Dechaine had won seven straight matches
on the left side of the board and was not planning on
settling for third place. Dechaine ran over WIlkie 9-2
to set up a match with Strickland in the finals.

Strickland came out strong in the first set of the finals
and raced to a 6-1 lead. Dechaine is not known for crumbling
under pressure though, and he came back to win seven straight
games and held an 8-6 lead. That would be as close to
the finish line as Dechaine would get, as Strickland won
the next three racks for the 9-8 victory and first place.

The second place finish was enough to catapult Dechaine
to the top of the Joss Tour Points List. Sunday's second chance tournament saw Larry Ross beat
Mike Andrews for the hot-seat and then degeat Joe Gibbons
in the finals for an undefeated victory.

As is always the case on the Joss Tour, a beautiful $1500
custom engraved Joss Cue was raffled off, and the winner
on this weekend was John Kalski.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will now take a break for the
holidays and return to action on February 8th at Sharpshooters
                        Billiards in Amsterdam, NY.

Tops Shaw for Ocean State Repeat | L-R Mike Zuglan, Martin Daigle, Mike
Dechaine, Jayson Shaw, Regina and Steve Goulding |
                      | Mike Dechaine won two out of three matches
over Jayson Shaw, to defend his title at the 25th Annual
                        Ocean State 9-Ball Championship.

Dechaine topped a field of 67 players at Snookers Sports
Bar & Grill in Providence, RI. He took the hot-seat
with a one sided 9-4 win over Jayson Shaw on Sunday.

Shaw's tournament looked to be over in the next match
as he watched from the chair as Canada's Martin Daigle
made the 9-ball on the break at hill-hill. To Shaw's surprise,
the cue ball also found the hole on that break shot and
he had a reprieve. Shaw won that game for the 9-8 win
over Daigle, and another shot at Dechaine in the finals.

While Dechaine, housepro at Snookers, certainly felt comfortable
in his home pool room, Shaw took late control of the first
set of the finals and won the match 9-5 to force a second
match to determine a final winner.

The second set of the finals was highlighted (?) by a
handful of uncharacteristic errors and misses by both
players as the length of the event had left them both
visibly tired. Dechaine would be the first player to break
through the daze and take control of the match, which
he won 9-6. After back to back runner up finishes in 2010 and 2011,
Dechaine has now won back to back Ocean State 9-Ball Championships
and will see a second banner raised in the rafters of
Snookers to commemorate his play. Dechaine joins Mike
Zuglan, Mika Immonen, Tony Robles, George San Souci and
Dennis Hatch and multiple time Ocean State Championship
                        winners.

The win brings Dechaine to second place on the Joss Tour
Points list, within striking distance of point leader
                        Ron Casanzio.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Raxx Pool Room in W.
Hempstead NY next weekend for another $1500/$500 added
tournament and second chance event on Sunday. After the
Raxx tour stop, the tour will take a break until February.

Joss Tour director Mike Zuglan will start taking signups
for the Turning Stone Classic XXII (taking place Sept
18th - 21st) in early January. As always, players are
encouraged to sign up for this event early.

                      | Shaun Wilkie scored a hard
fought win in the second set of the finals to defeat Ron
Casanzio and win the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour's Al Conte Memorial
at Hippos House of Billiards in Utica, NY on November
2nd - 3rd. Casanzio, who finished in second place to Danny Hewitt
last weekend, dropped a 9-6 decision to Martin Daigle
in the final four on the winners side Sunday. Daigle then
lost to Wilkie 9-6 for the hot-seat.
On the one loss side, Casanzio got his revenge over Daigle
with a 9-5 victory that sent Daigle to the seats in third
                        place.

The first set of the double elimination finals went to
Casanzio 9-8, but Wilkie came back to capture the second
set of the finals 9-7 for first place.

Fourteen players came back on Sunday to compete in the
$500 added second chance tournament. This event saw Alain
Parent bounce back from a loss to Paul Enslin in the winner's
side final four to defeat Enslin 3-0 in both sets of the
                        finals for first place.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will take next weekend off, but
will be back in action on November 16th and 17th at Snookers
in Providence, RI for the 25th Annual Ocean State 9-Ball
                        Championship.

                        Casanzio and Frank Connors |
                      | Danny Hewitt went undefeated through a
field of forty eight players to capture the Joss NE 9-Ball
Tour's third stop of the season at Premium Billiards in
Syracuse, NY on October 26th - 27th. Hewitt took the hot-seat in a lopsided 9-3 victory over
Ron Casanzio, but after a 9-4 match against Chance Chin,
Casanzio was right back in the finals looking for another
                        shot against Hewitt.
That rematch would not go much better for Casanzio, with
Hewitt running away with a 9-4 victory for first place
                        and $1000 in prize money.
The second chance event on Sunday drew nineteen players
and witnessed another undefeated run through the field,
this time at the cue of Spencer Auigbelle.

Auigbelle was relatively untested in this one, never allowing
an opponent to reach the hill against him. A 3-0 hot-seat
victory over Dave Dimeo was followed by a 3-1 win over
                        Travis Salvetti in the finals.

                      | Were it not for the intervention
of one Nelson Oliveira, the finals of Stop # 2 on the
2013-2014 Joss Northeast Tour, held on the weekend of
October 12-13, would have been a repeat of Stop #10 on
the 2012-2013 tour back in March, pitting Ron Casanzio
against Jason Michas. Casanzio defeated Michas in that
earlier matchup, and defeated him in a winners' side semifinal
in this event. Casanzio had to get by Paul Enslin twice
to capture this event title. The $1,500-added main event
drew 51 entrants to Sharpshooter's Billiards & Sports
Pub in Amsterdam, NY, while a Second Chance event, with
an $800 total prize fund and won Marko Clarke, drew 15.

As Casanzio was busy sending Michas west 9-2 in one of
the winners' side semifinals, Enslin was at work against
Sourith Thammavong in the other. Enslin sent Thammavong
after Michas 9-6 to meet up with Casanzio in the hot seat
match. Over 21 games in their two meetings, Casanzio gave
up only three racks to Enslin; one of them in their first
meeting, which left Casanzio in the hot seat.

Michas moved over and met up with Phil Davis, who'd gotten
by Dave Shlemperis and Greg Antonakos, both 9-5. Thammavong
ran into Oliveira, who, after being defeated by Michas
among the winners' side final eight, had defeated Chance
                        Chin 9-1 and Matt Tetreault 9-6. A quarterfinal re-match
was set up when Oliveira shut out Thammavong and Michas
                        downed Davis 9-7.

Oliveira ended Michas' hopes for a finals re-match against
Casanzio with a 9-6 win in the quarterfinals, and had
his own bid foiled by Enslin, 9-6 in the semifinals. Casanzio
completed his undefeated run with a 9-2 victory in the
opening set of the true double elimination final.

Marko Clarke's victory in the Second Chance tournament
went through Aaron Greenwood twice. He shut him out in
the hot seat match. Greenwood came back from a 3-1 victory
over Demian Provost in the semifinals and battled Clarke
to double hill before Clarke prevailed to finish an undefeated
                        day.

Stop # 3 on the Joss Northeast Tour, a $1,500-added event
with a $500-added Second Chance tournament, is scheduled
for October 26-27 at Premium Billiards in Syracuse, NY.

Joss NE 9-Ball Tour's Maine Event VII at TJ's Classic
                        Billiards in Waterville, Maine.

Dechaine was tested for the hot-seat, as he defeated Nelson
                        Oliviera 9-7.

On the one loss side, Tom D'Alfonso had put together a
wining streak of five matches after early Saturday loss
to Dechaine. D'Alfonso made it six in a row with a 9-5
win over Oliviera, sending Oliviera to the seats in third
place. D'Alfonso was looking for revenge against Dechaine in
the finals, but it wasn't meant to be on this day. Dechaine
cruised to a 9-2 win in the first match of the finals.

Dennis 3-0 and 3-2 in the finals for first place.
Sunday also saw the raffle drawing for the $1500 Joss
