Jayson Shaw 3-Peats
The Turning Stone Classic |
Jayson Shaw has won the Turning
Stone Classic for the third consecutive time and he did so in
fine style. He went through the field without a defeat and had
to get past some very tough competitors to do so.
Along the way to his victory Shaw sent Scott Frost to the B
side 9-3, Richard Young was deposited there 9-1 and Tommy D’Alfonso
failed 9-5. Mosconi Cup hopeful Justin Hall put up a great fight
but succumbed 9-7 and even the great Shane Van Boening could
not hold up under Shaw’s hot cue as he fell on the hill
9-8.
That loss pitted SVB against Mike Dechaine. Dechaine had been
on the long road since the first day and was determined to get
to the finals. He had been playing extremely well, destroying
one opponent after another, and he was ready for Van Boening.
He kept control of the table, broke and shot as well as anyone,
and won the right to face Shaw in the finals 9-5. Van Boening
settled for third place in the event.
Dechaine kept it close until the end of the match. It was then
that Shaw caught yet another gear and mastered the table to
win the event 13-10.

Press Release:
Turning Stone Classic XXIV - August 20-23, 2015 |
Mike Zuglan's Joss
Northeast 9-Ball Tour and Turning Stone Resort Casino are proud
to present our 2014-2015 Season Finale, The "Turning Stone
Classic XXIV 9-Ball Open". This event will take place in
Turning Stone's beautiful & spacious Event Center which
is known worldwide as one of the best venues ever. There are
no bad seats, and the layout allows you to mingle with all of
your favorite players and friends, giving you the feeling of
being part of the action yourself. There is an aura of intimacy
that seems to surround you at these events. If you have never
been to Turning Stone, located in Verona NY, you simply don't
know what you are missing. Check them out at www.turningstone.com
For an unprecedented 24th time, we will have a full field of
players with no shortage of past, present and future Champions.
Shaw, Van Boening, Archer, Karen Corr, Jennifer Barretta, Deuel,
Dechaine, Appleton, Dominguez, Bergman, Sossei & Immonen
are just a few competing in this world class event. Don't think
for a minute that any of these players are a "lock"
to win. Joss Tour regulars like Souvanthong, Casanzio &
Dupuis just might have something to say about that. Then there
are the many others that have a legitimate chance of making
history, and even more that are very capable of a high finish.
So look for anything to happen when the smoke clears on Sunday
night. I am pleased to also announce that this event, in addition
to being a BCA event, will be a Mosconi Cup and WPA ranking
event!
There will be a "second chance" tournament on Sunday
August 23 at 10AM running continuously until completed. This
is an event for those Non Pro level players (I will decide)
eliminated from the main event. The event format will be as
follows: $60 Entry Fee - 32 Player Max - same rules as main
event - Single Elimination - Races to 4, best 2 of 3 sets, with
the deciding set a single game sudden death. This means that
if each player wins a race to 4, there will be a lag for the
break and a 1 game playoff to determine the match winner. Entries
will be taken for this tournament as players are eliminated
from the main event and will be treated as first paid - first
in until the event is full.
The equipment for this world class event will once again be
16, 9 foot Diamond Pro tables covered with 860 Simonis ("The
Cloth Of Champions") tournament blue cloth. We will be
using the new Aramith Tournament TV Pro Cup balls. Thanks again
to Ivan Lee for providing us with the World's best cloth and
the World's best balls! All of these items will be for sale
in tournament used condition, and only seriously interested
parties are urged to contact Mike Zuglan immediately at 518-356-7163
for info and pricing.
Being a spectator at Turning Stone is an experience you won't
find anywhere else. We always offer fans, Free Admission, Free
collectible posters (while supplies last) and once again Turning
Stone will be giving away a $10 free play to all players and
fans. So you get Free admission, Free posters and Free bets!!
No one else does it like Turning Stone and the Joss Northeast
9-Ball Tour! Included in the Event Center at Turning Stone is
a full service snack bar serving all of our favorite foods and
adult beverages. There will be billiard product vendors and
on site cue repairs available for all your needs. We will also
be raffling off 2 gorgeous, custom, engraved Joss Cues on Saturday
at 8pm and Sunday immediately prior to the final match and you
Do Not have to be present to win. These cues have a retail value
of $1275 each and are generously provided by Danny Janes of
Joss Cues Ltd. Thanks again to Danny for all he does for us!!
So come to Turning Stone Resort Casino August 20-23 for a great
experience and 4 full days of some of the best pool you will
ever witness. If for some reason you are unable to make it,
there will be a free live stream and live scoring expertly provided
by Mike Howerton & Jerry Forsythe( www.azbilliards.com ),
Upstate Al Leon, The Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour and Turning
Stone Resort Casino. Match times are Thursday 4, 6, 8, &

Shaw had his hands full with Kevin Guimond in the hot-seat match;
which went to hill-hill before Shaw could pull out the win.
Guimond made relatively quick work of Nelson Oliveira in the
semi-final match 9-3, but Shaw had no problems in the finals
as he ran over Guimond 9-1 in one set.
Finishing in 5th place, Jeremy Sossei ended the season atop
the points list and wins Player of the Year status.

Casanzio for Joss Tour Win |
Bucky Souvanthong avoided a final
match double dip with a hard fought win over Ron Casanzio in
the second set of the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour stop finals at Salt
City Billiards in Syracuse, NY on April 11th - 12th.
Souvanthong crusied through the field of 40 players and took
the hot-seat with a relatively comfortable 9-6 win over Ron
Casanzio.
After Cosanzio was taken to the hill in the semi-finals by Jeremy
Sossei, fans in attendance had to assume that Souvanthong was
a big favorite in the finals. WIth that in mind, Casanzio proceeded
to crush Souvanthong 9-1 in the first set of the finals. Bucky
regained control in the second set of the finals and held an
early 7-4 lead. Casanzio made a run and got back within one
rack at 8-7, but failed to get out in the sixteenth rack. Souvanthong
took advantage by Casanzio's inability to convert the run-out
and won the case rack for the 9-7 victory and first place.
The second set saw Dwight Dixon go undefeated with a 3-0 win
over Dave Ricci for the hot-seat , and a 3-2 win in the first
set of the finals over Rob Henry.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Snookers in Providence, RI
for their regular season finale on May 30th - 31st.
There are still a handful of spots left for the Turning Stone
Classic XXIV on August 20th - 23rd. Players looking to participate
should contact Mike Zuglan sooner than later.

wins NE 9-Ball Open 28 |
Shaun Wilkie |
Shaun Wilkie proved that he can dominate multiple
tours, as he took a break from his current six tournament winning
streak on the Action Pool Tour, to win the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour's
NE 9-Ball Open XXVIII at Golden Cue Billiards in Albany, NY
on March 28th - 29th.
Wilkie made his way through the field of fifty three players
and captured the hot-seat with a 9-4 win over Ron Casanzio.
Casanzio then fell to Yesid Garibello on the one loss side 9-6.
Garibello was on a roll, after a second round loss to Rick Sleeper
early on Saturday afternoon. Eight matches later, Garibello
was gearing up to play Wilkie in the finals.
Just prior to the finals getting underway, the drawing was held
to see who would win the $1200 Joss Custom Cue at this event.
Sure enough, that winner would be Garibello. Wilkie must have
thought the pool gods had it in for him as Garibello went on
to win the first set of the double elimination finals 9-5. Wilkie
finally cooled off Garibello and scored a 9-5 win of his own
in the second set of the finals.
The second chance event on Sunday drew a field of thirty one
players looking for their share of over $1000 in prize money.
Bruce Carroll would earn the lion's share of that prize money
with an undefeated run through the field. Carroll defeated Brent
Boemmels 3-1 for the hot-seat, and then defeated Angelo Hilton
3-1 in the first set of the finals.
Joss NE 9-Ball Tour director Mike Zuglan mentioned that he still
has spots open for August's Turning Stone Classic XXIV. Interested
players should contact Zuglan as soon as possible.

Dechaine double-dips
Rodriguez to reclaim New England Pool & Billiards Hall of
Fame title |
It was almost a storybook ending.
The Joss Northeast 9-Ball's 6th Annual New England Pool &
Billiards Hall of Fame/Ray Desell Memorial 9-Ball Open, held
on the weekend of February 27-March 1, included, on Friday,
the induction of nine candidates into the New England Hall of
Fame. Among them were Karen Corr, who made it to the semifinals
of the $2,500-added 9-ball event that drew 88 entrants to Snookers
in Providence, RI. She was defeated in those semifinals by Mike
Dechaine, who won five on the loss side to meet and twice defeat
hot seat occupant, Jorge Rodriguez, and reclaim the title he'd
last won in 2013. It was Dechaine's third win on the tour, dating
back to October.
Dechaine's victory carried echoes of the 5th annual event, in
which Joey Dupuis came from the loss side and defeated Dechaine
in the finals. This time, it was Dechaine on the loss side,
after a 9-6 loss to Nelson Oliveira in a winners' side quarterfinal.
Oliveira advanced to meet Corr, while Rodriguez and Jeremy Sossei,
looking for his third Joss win of the 2014-2015 season, met
in the other winners' side semifinal.
Rodriguez and Sossei battled to double hill before Rodriguez
prevailed for a spot in the hot seat match. He was joined by
Corr, who'd dispatched Oliveira 9-6. Rodriguez sent Corr to
the semifinals 9-3 and waited in the hot seat for Dechaine.
Over on the loss side, Dechaine was at work. He defeated Pete
Bowman and Cleiton Rocha 9-3 to draw Sossei; they'd met last
in the finals of the Ocean State 9-Ball Championship in November.
Oliveira picked up Ryan Lineham, who'd gotten by Mark Creamer
9-5 and Paul Dryden 9-7.
Lineham brought Oliveira within a game of double hill, but it
was Oliveira advancing to the quarterfinals. Dechaine had somewhat
of an easier time against Sossei, defeating him 9-2 for a shot
against the man who'd sent him to the loss side. Dechaine chalked
up another 9-2 win, dropping Oliveira into fourth place, and
turned to face Corr in the semifinals.
Having given up three or less racks during his four loss-side
matches, Corr proved to be a little more resilient. She battled
Dechaine and chalked up seven, before Dechaine pulled ahead
to win it.
It was clear from the outset in the double elimination finals
that Dechaine was on a mission. While both players exhibited
signs of fatigue as Sunday, March 1, turned into Monday, March
2, Dechaine jumped out of the gate and claimed the opening set
9-5. Rodriguez came out just as determined in the second set,
taking an early 4-0 lead. Rodriguez would continue to creep
forward, but by rack #12, Dechaine had tied things up. He would
go on to win the next two and stood on the brink of claiming
the title. Rodriguez, though, battled back to tie things, double
hill, and then, just as he stood on the brink of claiming the
title, he scratched on the final break. Dechaine closed it out
around 2 a.m. to claim the 6th Annual New England Pool &
Billiard Hall of Fame/Ray Desell Memorial title.
A $500-added Second Chance tournament, saw Justin Muller go
undefeated, downing Bob Madenjian in the finals. Ed Loring finished
in third place, after defeating Phil Davis, who finished fourth.
Tim Perry and Clyde Matta tied for fifth place.
In addition to Karen Corr, the New England Pool & Billiard
Hall of Fame inducted Grace Nakamura, “Upstate Al”
Leon, Shayne Cote, Philip Capelle, Steve and Tammy Reynolds,
Bart Rivezzi, and Nick Scofield at the ceremonies on Friday
evening, February 27. The next stop on the Joss Northeast 9-Ball
Tour, scheduled for March 28-29, will be the Northeast 9-Ball
Open XXVIII, and will be hosted by Golden Cue Billiards in Albany.

Holds Off Souvanthong for Joss Tour Win |
Danny Hewitt |
Danny Hewitt held off a red hot Bucky Souvanthong
in the double elimination finals to win the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour
stop at Trick Shot Billiards & Sports Bar in Clifton Park,
NY on February 21st and 22nd.
Hewitt & Souvanthong were joined by Dave Fernandez and Angelo
Hilton in the winners side final four on Sunday, where Hewitt
defeated Souvanthong 9-8, and Fernandez beat Hilton 9-7. Hewitt
went on to then defeat Fernandez 9-3 for the hot-seat.
On the one loss side, Souvanthong made his way back through
the brackets to eliminate Fernandez 9-2 in the semi-final match.
Souvanthong rode his hot-streak for a quick 9-4 win over Hewitt
in the first set of the finals, but Hewitt took control of the
second set and scored a 9-3 win for first place.
The second chance tournament on Sunday saw James Chemaly score
his first second chance tournament win of his career. Chemaly
took the hot-seat with a 3-1 win over Dave Dimeo, but then lost
3-1 to Frank Delconte in the first set of the double elimination
finals. Like Hewitt, Chemaly came back to take control of the
second set of the finals and scored a 3-1 victory for first
place.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Snookers in Providence, RI
on February 28th - March 1st for their next event; the 6th New
England Pool and Billiard Hall of Fame 9-Ball Open. This event
will feature a $2500 added main event and a $500 added second
chance event on Sunday.

Sossei |
Sossei undefeated for
another Joss Tour Win |
Stop eight on the Joss NE 9-Ball
Tour went basically as expected with Jeremy Sossei (ranked #1
on tour) defeating Ron Casanzio (ranked #2 on tour) twice to
complete an undefeated run and capture first place at Sharpshooters
Billiards in Amsterdam, NY.
The latter stages of the event couldn't have been closer with
all four of the matches between the final eight players on the
winners side going hill-hill before a victor was determined.
Sossei would defeat Willie Oney in that round of play, before
scoring a 9-7 win over Casanzio for the hot-seat.
Casanzio wouldn't stay on the left side of the brackets for
long though, as he cruised through his match with Danny Hewitt
and won 9-4.
Sossei looked like he would run away with the first set of the
finals as he led the match 8-2 before Casanzio made one more
push. Down by six racks, Casanzio broke and ran four straight
racks to get back within two games at 8-6, but his run would
end when he broke dry in the 15th rack and Sossei ran out for
the 9-6 victory.
Twelve players came back on Sunday to compete in the second
chance tournament that saw Bruce Carroll hold off a late charge
from Jorge Teixeira in the finals. Carroll defeated Phil Davis
3-0 for the hot-seat, and Davis then lost 3-2 to Teixeira. Teixeira
defeated Carroll 3-1 in the first set of the double elimination
finals, but Carroll would come back to win the second set by
the same 3-1 scoreline.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be back in action on Feb 21st and
22nd at Trick Shot Billiards in Clifton Park, NY.

Jayson
Shaw Takes Down Second Straight Turning Stone |
L-R Winner Jayson Shaw, Tour Owner Mike
Zuglan and Runner-up John Morra |
Jayson Shaw has won Turning Stone XXIII by defeating
a very hot-shooting John Morra 13-11. Morra caused quite a buzz
in the room when he dominated Mika Immonen to win the hot seat
9-1 in less than thirty minutes. Morra got out every time that
was even a remote possibility and locked Immonen up in a vault
when he played safe.
But Shaw had been busy with his warm-ups and came into the finals
with his usual confidence and amazing eye. Morra had beaten
Shaw earlier in the day 9-8 to send him left. Once there Shaw
knocked out Shaun Wilkie 9-3 and then Jeremy Sossei 9-5 before
facing Mika Immonen. Immonen had just been beaten badly by Morra
and was determined to not let that happen to him again. Against
all odds it did. Once again Immonen simply could not gain control
of the table at critical moments and Shaw put him down by the
same 9-1 score line that Mika had just suffered at the hands
of Morra.
So both of our finalists had taken out a multi-time U.S. Open
and World Champion by the same dominating score. The match lived
up to expectations with both men playing well. Shaw reached
the hill first at 12-11 but denied Morra the opportunity to
join him there as he took the final rack for a 13-11 victory.
AZB would like to thanks Mike Zuglan and the Turning Stone Resort
Casino for their impeccable hospitality and yet another great
tournament. Congrats also to both John Morra and Jayson Shaw
who have firmly established their positions amongst the top
players in the world.

Once again at Turning Stone there will be a "second chance"
tournament on Sunday January 11th at 10AM. This is an event
for those Non Pro level players (I will decide) eliminated from
the main event. The event format will be as follows: $60 Entry
Fee - 32 Player Max - same rules as main event - Single Elimination
- Races to 4, best 2 of 3 sets, with the deciding set being
a single game sudden death. This means that if each player wins
a race to 4, there will be a lag for the break and a 1 game
playoff to determine the match winner. Entries will be taken
for this tournament as players are eliminated from the main
event and will be treated as first paid - first in until the
event is full.
The equipment for this world class event will once again be
16 Diamond Pro tables covered with 860 Simonis ("The Cloth
Of Champions") tournament blue cloth. For just the second
time we will be using the new Aramith Tournament balls with
Pro Cup cue balls. And you can thank Aramith and specifically
Ivan Lee for stepping in to most generously provide us with
the best balls on the planet! All items are for sale in tournament
used condition, and only seriously interested parties are urged
to contact Mike Zuglan immediately at 518-356-7163 for info
and pricing.
As always, and for the 23rd time, fans coming to Turning Stone
for our event will be treated to Free Admission, Free collectible
posters (while supplies last & can be viewed now at www.joss9balltour.com
), $10 casino Free Plays to players and fans, and some of the
best pool you will ever see. All of this is brought to you courtesy
of Turning Stone Resort & Casino and the Joss Northeast
9-Ball Tour!
Included in the Event Center at Turning Stone is a full service
snack bar serving all of our favorite foods and adult beverages.
There will be billiard product vendors and on site cue repairs
available for all your needs. There is still time and room for
new vendors at a mere fraction of what you would pay elsewhere.
Interested parties should contact me at 518-356-7163 immediately.
We will also be raffling off 2 gorgeous, custom, engraved Joss
Cues on Saturday at 8pm and Sunday immediately prior to the
final match and you Do Not have to be present to win. These
cues have a retail value of over $1,500 each and are generously
provided by Danny Janes of Joss Cues Ltd. The cues can be viewed
here: http://www.josscues.com/html/cues/cus-04.html#logo

Guimond
Double Dips Sossei for Joss Tour Win |
Kevin
Guimond avenged his only loss of the weekend and double
dipped Jeremy Sossei in the finals to win the Joss NE
9-Ball Tour event at Raxx Pool Room & Grill in West
Hempstead NY on November 22nd and 23rd.
Sossei defeated Guimond 9-4 in the finals four of the
winners side, but that would not be the last that he
would see of Guimond. Sossei went on to capture the
hot-seat with a 9-5 win over Jonathan Smith.
On the one loss side, Guimond ran over Michael Yednak
9-1, and then won a hill-hill thriller against Earl
Strickland. A 9-6 win over Smith set up the Guimond/Sossei
rematch in the finals.
The finals would take both sets, but Guimond scored
a 9-6 win followed up by a 9-4 win for his first Joss
Tour win of the season. It was Sossei’s fourth
straight top two finish on tour this season and he currently
holds first place on the tour points list.

Dechaine Three
Peats at Ocean State 9-Ball Championship |
Mike Dechaine has joined
a small crowd of players who have three or more Ocean
State 9-Ball Championship banners hanging from the ceiling
at Snookers in Providence, RI. In earning his third banner,
he also accomplished something that no other player has
managed in winning three straight Ocean State titles.
For the third week in a row, it was Jeremy Sossei competing
for the hot-seat at a Joss NE 9-Ball Tour event. This
time, he would lose the hot-seat to Dechaine 9-6.
On the one loss side, Mike Davis was on a tear. After
losing to Earl Strickland in a close match on Saturday,
Davis won four straight matches that included revenge
over Strickland. Davis had no answer for Sossei though
as Jeremy raced to a quick 9-2 win.
Sossei kept his strong play going in the first set of
the finals and scored a 9-3 win over Dechaine to force
a second set. That second set was a back and forth affair
that finally saw Dechaine pull out the 9-7 win for his
third straight Ocean State 9-Ball Title.
Dechaine has now won as many Ocean State titles as George
San Souci at three, and only trails Mika Immonen's four
titles and Mike Zuglan's five titles.
The second place finish moved Sossei to the top of the
Joss Tour's Points list, and Dechaine climbed to third
on the list with two tournament wins so far this season.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Raxx in West Hempstead,
NY next weekend for their next event.

Sossei
Wins Second Straight Joss Tour Stop |
L-R Bucky Souvanthong, Victor Conte
and Jeremy Sossei |
A week after Jeremy Sossei's undefeated
run through the field at the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour stop
at Salt City Billiards, he came out on top of the Al Conte
Memorial at Hippo's House of Billiards in Utica, NY.
The closest anyone came to beating Sossei a week ago was
Bucky Souvanthong's 9-5 loss. This time Souvanthong and
Sossei faced off in the 4th round, with Sossei scoring
a 9-6 win. No one would get any closer to Souvanthong
on his way to the hot-seat, which he captured with a 9-5
win over last week's runner up Spencer Auigbelle.
The tournament ended with more rematches from last week
as Souvanthong and Auigbelle faced off in the semi-final
match to see who would play Sossei in the finals. Auigbelle
had won this matchup 9-8 last week, but this week it was
Souvanthong scoring the 9-2 win. In the end though, it
didn't matter who the opponent was for Sossei as he defeated
Souvanthong 9-8 in the first set of the finals.
The second chance event on Sunday went to Willie Oney,
who defeated Dwight Dixon 3-0 for the hot-seat, and then
fought off Kevin Ketz in two sets in the finals.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Snookers in Providence,

Salt City Owner Frank Del Conte,
Spencer Auigbelle and Jeremy Sossei |
Sossei and Davis
earn Joss Tour Wins |
Jeremy Sossei turned in
a dominating performance going through a field of 37 players
undefeated to win the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour stop at Salt
City Billiards in Syracuse NY.
On his way to the hot-seat match, the closest Sossei allowed
an opponent was Bucky Souvanthong who managed five racks
before Sossei won the match 9-5. The hot-seat match turned
out to be more of the same as Sossei scored a comfortable
9-3 win over Spencer Auigbelle.
On the one loss side, Auigbelle and Souvanthong battled
to hill-hill before Auigbelle dropped the case nine ball
to earn a rematch with Sossei in the finals.
The finals would go one set with Auigbelle unable to better
his three racks from the hot-seat match. Sossei scored
another 9-3 win in the first set of the finals.
The second chance event on Sunday saw Phil Davis bounce
back from an early loss to Lance Kellogg and not lose
a match the rest of the way. Davis won five straight matches
on the one loss side to get to the finals, where he defeated
hot-seat holder Geoff Montgomery 3-2 and 3-2 in the two
set final match.
Next up for the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be the Al Conte
Memorial on November 8th and 9th at Hippos House of Billiards
in Utica, NY.

Hewitt
and Piercey Score Canadian Sweep at Joss Tour Stop |
L-R Ron Casanzio, Premium Billiards
Manager Mark Ruzekowicz and Danny Hewitt |
Some players will take a first round loss
as a sign that it just isn't their event to win. Others
will take it as a challenge. Put Danny Hewitt in the latter
category as he bounced back from a first round loss to
Bucky Souvanthong to stay undefeated the rest of the way
and won the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour's stop at Premium Billiards
in Syracuse, NY on October 25th and 26th.
While Hewitt was winding his way through the one loss
side, his countryman Martin Daigle and Ron Casanzio were
enjoying runs through the winner's side. They met for
the hot-seat, where Casanzio scored a 9-8 win.
On the one loss side, Hewitt had already put together
an eight match winning streak and Daigle become win #9
for Hewitt with a 9-7 score.
Hewitt would have to defeat Casanzio twice to win the
event, but what are another two matches after already
winning nine in a row? The first match went to Hewitt
9-3, but Casanzio wasn't going home in second without
a fight. Casanzio came out to a quick 4-1 lead and was
doing all he could to hold Hewitt off. Hewitt got back
within one rack at 5-4, but Casanzio pushed the lead back
out to two racks at 7-5 and 8-6. That would be the last
rack for Casanzio though, as Hewitt was the last three
racks for the 9-8 win and a successful winning streak
of eleven straight matches.
The second chance event on Sunday featured Canadian road
partners Jesse Piercey and Randell Truscott facing off
three times to determine a winner. Truscott drew first
blood with a 3-2 win for the hot-seat, but after sending
Dominick Martoccia home in third place, Piercey came back
to defeat Truscott 3-1 and 3-0 in the finals.
The next event on the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour is November
1st and 2nd at Salt City Billiards in another $1500/$500
added main event and second chance tournament.
Players looking for a spot in the upcoming Turning Stone
Classic XXIII on January 8th - 11th are urged to contact

Daigle
Undefeated for Joss Tour Win |
Martin
Daigle distanced himself from the rest of the field
of forty six players to go undefeated and win the Joss
NE 9-Ball Tour’s second stop of the season, which
took place at Sharpshooters in Amsterdam, NY on October
19th.
Daigle looked virtually unstoppable as he took the hot-seat
with a 9-2 shellacking of Ron Cosanzio.
Cosanzio was looking for another shot at Daigle, and
he would get it after sending Dave Grau to the rail
in third place 9-6 in the semi-finals.
Cosanzio had a better showing in the final, but it was
still Daigle taking an early lead and holding off Cosanzio
in the way to a 9-6 win in the first and only set.
The second chance event on Sunday drew fifteen players
and Mike Hurley took the hot-seat with a 3-2 win over
Kevin Ketz. Ketz scored a 3-2 win over Brian Lipes in
the semi-final match to earn another shot at Hurley
in the finals. The finals went two sets with Ketz scoring
a 3-1 win in the first set, but dropping the second
set 3-1 and settling for second place.
Fred Gokey was the proud winner of the $1275 Joss Custom
Cue raffle at the event.
Next week, the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Premium
Billiards in Syracuse, NY, followed by stops at Salt
City Billiards and Hippos House of Billiards the two
weeks after that. Tour director Mike Zuglan has announced
that any amateur player who plays in all three of the
next Joss Tour events, will be eligible for a drawing
to win a free entry into the Turning Stone Classic XXIII
on January 8th - 11th.
